NCSA Founder Chris Krause was considered a blue chip recruit when he was a junior in high school. He was getting attention from over 100 collegiate football programs including Harvard, Notre Dame, Tennessee, and Arizona.
With so much interest from top programs, Chris thought he could just sit back and the offers would come to him - but he was wrong.
He had not followed up with the schools who were interested in him - and so they had not followed up with him either. Chris found himself as a senior, with his recruiting clock winding down, and no offers despite the stacks of letters.
But he was not ready to give up on his dream of playing college football. Chris took matters into his own hands and starting reaching out to coaches himself. His determination and hard work paid off: he received a full scholarship to Vanderbilt University and graduated in four years.
Chris was happy about an opportunity to play SEC football at one of the best academic schools in the country. But it was hard for him to watch high school teammates far more talented than him miss out on scholarships because they did not know how to play the game of recruiting.
He graduated from Vanderbilt, but years later, he was still thinking about the struggles he faced in the recruiting process. This inspired him to create an athletic recruiting network so that no qualified athlete would miss out on their dream to play at the next level and receive a world class education.
Building on his experience in the recruiting process, Chris began assisting student athletes with recruiting, helping them find the right academic and athletic fit in college. He founded NCSA in 2000 with a passion to help turn athletes dreams into reality.
NCSA has gone from a project in Chris basement to network of over 400,000 student athletes, 37,000 college coaches, and strategic partners including the NFL Players Association, ESPN, and more.
The power of this network is what has allowed over 90% of NCSA verified athletes to play at the college level. NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process each year through educational resources and recruiting seminars.
In the past decade, NCSA has become the leader in matching college coaches with qualified student-athletes. This is made possible by cutting edge technology and a team of experienced former collegiate and professional athletes and coaches.
NCSA provides recruiting education, professional highlight tape editing, contact with coaches, and hands-on guidance for individual athletes from an expert team. The goal is to help recruits understand the academic, athletic and financial aid opportunities available to them.
