College Basketball Camps in Ohio

Attending a university basketball camp is one way for high school athletes to experience college level play, and college living, often for the first time. These camps often allow campers to find out what dorm living is like, as well as dining on campus, using the school’s exercise facilities, and talking with current college players to get their insights into college life and college ball. Here are two college camps available in Ohio.

Wooster College hosts a girls basketball camp for girls grade four through twelve. For thirty years, the college of Wooster has been teaching girls how to become better basketball players in their weeklong, overnight camps. There are two sessions every summer, with camps open to overnight campers and commuters. Campers get to use all the school facilities while on campus, and receive quality instruction from area high school and college coaches.

Ohio State Buckeyes host camps for boys and girls. There are boys and girls camps for younger players. The school also hosts a boys team basketball camp for high school teams. High school girls can attend the position camp. All Buckeye camps are commuter camps, but some offer a few meals, in addition to instruction.

Find Other Basketball Camps in Ohio

If you’ve got the time and money to travel for camp this summer, you may want to look at the major national camps and see if any of them will be hosting camps in nearby states. NBC, Hoop Mountain, Point Guard College, Nike, and Five Star are all national camps with big reputations. You’ll also find local camp options in the mid west that are taught by local former players or coaches. These camps are often day camps, although there will be a few very large camps that are overnight camps with the same level of reputation as the big university and national camps.
