Gonzaga Basketball Camps in Washington
Gonzaga University in Spokane offers a great range of basketball camps for Washington youth athletes of both genders. In addition to regular day camps and overnight camps for individuals, there will be team camps for both boys and girls, as well as specialty camps to help you reach your highest potential.
For girls between the ages of 5 and 14, Gonzaga offers a Position camp, where you’ll work on improving both fundamental skills and your individual playing position. All players will be coached on ways to improve their footwork, shooting, technique, shooting drills, ball handling and passing skills, as well as getting instruction in specific and advanced fundamentals for both offense and defense. Those who play the perimeter will learn how to create of¬fensive advantages by using the pass and the dribble, setting, read¬ing and using screens, as well as advanced defensive fundamentals. Post players will receive specific instruction in gaining, maintain¬ing, and using post position. They will also participate in post shooting drills and progressions, and learn advanced defensive post positioning.
Boys’ Basketball Camps in Washington
Gonzaga University also hosts boys’ basketball camps in Washington, including an Advanced Skills camp. Open to boys entering grades 3 through 12, this camp is available in both day camp and overnight camp formats. You’ll be instructed by the Gonzaga Men’s Basketball coaching staff, cur¬rent and former members of the Bulldogs, and an elite group of high school coaches. Instruction will focus on developing fundamental skills necessary for successful team play, including aspects such as improving footwork, shooting technique, ball handling, passing, rebounding, and offensive and defensive individual and team concepts.
Day camps are available for younger boys and girls, entering grades 1 through 7. Half-day sessions are recommended for those in grades 1 and 2, while full days are available for all.
