Out-Of-State High School Basketball Camps
There are national, university, and local basketball camps for boys and girls in most areas of the country. For campers who live in an area without a college or university that offers camp opportunities, attending an out-of-state camp can be a good option. Another reason to attend an out-of-state camp is because the camp itself is going to offer you something you won’t be able to get at a local camp.
If you live in a state without any options for serious basketball campers, you can search in neighboring states for a university or college camp. It’s possible that a national camp will also be hosted by one of these colleges.
Some universities have such a reputation for their basketball teams that high school athletes from all over the country travel to that school every summer for the chance to work with that school’s coaching staff. Duke University is one such school. Their camps for boys and girls are a common destination for high school athletes from cities across the US.
Some private basketball camps also have this sort of reputation and draw. This can be due to the level of the instruction offered or the recruitment possibilities available to campers or both. Some private camps will hold sessions in several locations, while others are headquartered at a particular school and will not have options available elsewhere. Blue-Chip Basketball camp, hosted at Georgetown College in Kentucky is one such private camp that doesn’t offer sessions in other places. Camps like Hoop Mountain or Nike Basketball camps will have sessions in several cities around the country, though neither option will be available in every state.
