The Windy City has always and may continue to be synonymous with football. The city’s own Chicago Bears have been with in the city since the early 1920s, and even before the establishment of the Bears, football had been a mainstay for the city. Such a supportive environment for the sport of football has developed many quality of football camps in Chicago.

Popular Chicago Football Camps

The Chicago Bears themselves hold their own youth football camps each year in 25 different locations in the Chicago area. These camps are comprehensive, non-contact learning sessions for children ages 6 to 14. Instructors for the camps are former Chicago Bear greats and professional coaches.

In nearby Evanston, Illinois, Northwestern University holds its own Pat Fitzgerald Football Camp, named after current Northwestern University head football coach Pat Fitzgerald. These football camps run from early June til the end of the month at local high schools and at other locations in the Chicagoland area. Instruction during the Chicagoland camps will include instruction from Northwestern coaches and coaches from universities in the Mid-West and East Coast from the Football Bowl Subdivision and Football Championship Subdivision.

Also in the Chicagoland area are the wide variety of camps that are provided by the National Football Academies. One of the main camps run in Chicago are the PSP camps, which are weekly, bi-monthly, and monthly regional small-group training sessions run by QBA/WRA Senior-Certified Coaches throughout America. Also within the NFA group of camps include specialized positional camps. These camps include specific instruction for quarterbacks, wide receivers, running backs, linebackers, offensive linemen, and defensive linemen.
