Local and National Football Camps in Colorado
Local and national organizations host football camps for young athletes in cities across the state. Here are a few options football players in Colorado will have this summer.
The Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado hosts summer sports camps, including a football camp for kids eight to eighteen. For over thirty years, this camp has helped train young athletes to become better players and better people. There are three sessions this summer, two for boarders and commuters, and one three day camp for commuters only. Athletes stay at the dorms at the Academy and meals are included in the cost of the camp. Groups are broken down by age and each group will work both offensive and defensive drills and stations each day.
The Mile High Football camp in Lakewood, Colorado is a full-contact camp for kids age eight to fourteen. This overnight camp works on both offensive and defensive training, with special emphasis on discipline. Professional athletes often appear as guest speakers and instructors at the camp and you can see the complete list of coaches for this summer’s session at the web site. Coaches are pros, college coaches, and high school coaches.
National organization Offense-Defense will also be hosting an event in Denver, Colorado this year. O-D is a full-contact camp for kids through seniors in high school and the coaching staff is made up of professional players and coaches, as well as college coaches. Athletes who perform well at regular weeklong O-D camps will be invited to participate in the yearly All American Bowl game, where talented athletes from all over the country will come together to play and be seen by recruiters.
