Should You Look at Overnight or Day Football Camps in Idaho?

Universities are often a good place to look for football camps. Universities and colleges host these events to raise money for their departments and to nurture young talent and hopefully, attract it to their school. University camps are taught by the school’s coaching staff and current players and can be day camps or overnight events, depending on the school.

Deciding on whether to attend a day or overnight camp? First, there are two types of day camper: extended and regular. Some camps also offer half-day camps which offer a few hours of training a day. Not all camps offer all of these options, so make sure to check with the camps you are considering before making any decisions.

Being a day camper is cheaper than being an overnight camper, even for the same amount of instruction and game time. This is because you don’t have to pay for housing and some meals when you attend a camp as a day camper. Regular day campers get a shortened schedule of training and games, where extended day campers get the full instruction and leave the event as the overnight campers are returning to the dorms.

The advantage of being an overnight camper is really one of experience. You’ll get the same instruction as an extended day camper, but you’ll get to remain with your other camp mates in the dorms, where you can spend more time building friendships. Being an overnight camper is also a good choice if you don’t live near the school that’s hosting the event. Not having to worry about travel time and getting to camp on time every morning is generally a good thing.
