US Football Camps for Skills Training and Recruitment
There are football camps in almost every state in the US this summer. You’ll have a choice between university and college camps and national camps that offer general skills training, focused skills training, and recruitment opportunities.
Players that want a chance to work on all aspects of the game and get a chance to play against other top athletes will want to attend a general skills camp. This type of camp works on building your strength and speed, as well as working on football specific tips and techniques. A general skills camp will allow you to spend time working on all parts of the game, improving your overall performance.
A focused skills camp is for position-specific training. If you are sure of the position that you want to play and want to continue playing that position in college or professionally, attending a camp that is designed specifically for that position is a good choice. You’ll work on drills and techniques unique to your position and spend a lot of time working on the strengths and skills needed to play that position. You’ll find camps for most positions will be available this summer, including quarterback camps, kickers and long snappers camps, and camps for linemen and backs.
Recruiting camps are usually more than just a chance to be seen by coaches and scouts. They will also dedicate time to practice and drills to improve your basic skills and athleticism. Sometimes, the recruiters are invited to watch these drills. At other camps, the recruiters are there to watch scrimmage or tournament games that campers participate in. These games can be held every day, or just on the last day or two of camp.
