You’ll learn ways to continue your training after you’ve returned home and how to incorporate these lessons into your regular practices. When looking at sports camps, you’ll have to decide whether you want to attend a general skills camp or position specific camp.
General and Position-Specific Sports Camps in Maryland
You may think that a general camp is only good for new players and that position camps are the only option for experienced athletes, but this isn’t true. There are high-profile national camps that only offer general instruction, in the sense that campers for all positions in that sport are at the same camp and work together on developing fundamental skills. While you may also receive position-specific instruction, it won’t be the main focus of the camp. These camps are good for new players, but experienced players also find them useful and can still learn a lot about their sport and increase their skills.
Position-specific camps are meant mainly for experienced players. These camps work only with players of the position focused on in the camp. This can include quarterback camps, striker camps, goaltenders camps, and pitching camps. All the attendees at that camp will be working on the same position and will learn drills and techniques unique to that position. Some position camps will also include some general instruction, but for the most part, you’ll be spending your time focused only on the skills most relevant for that position.
