Know What You’re Looking for in Sports Camps in Nevada
Why do you want to attend sports camp this summer? Chances are, the answer to that question is either to become a better athlete or to increase your exposure to college recruiters, or both. If so, you’ll want to look for a camp that is going to offer instruction and/or recruiting opportunities. While almost all camps offer some sort of instruction, not all camps are recruiting camps, so you’ll want to check the camp’s description to make sure that it is going to have coaches or scouts present who are actively recruiting in your sport.
National camps are the most likely to include recruiting help or opportunities, but that doesn’t mean that a university or local camp is not going to be a good choice for prospective college players. Some universities host prospect camps just to see potential recruits in action and some local camps also have recruiting opportunities. Again, you’ll have to check with each camp. You can’t rely on the type of camp to tell you what they will or will not offer.
If instruction is your main goal, you’ll have more options this summer. Aside from the explicit recruitment-only camps, all camps, even the national camps that have recruiting as a main feature, like DeMarini Top96 camps, will also have some instruction time. If you want a more comprehensive instructional atmosphere, you’ll probably want to find a camp that focuses mainly on instruction, with little or no time spent on recruiting activities. These camps are prevalent across the country, so you’re likely to find something nearby.
