Information about Packing List for Sports Camp
Overnight sports camps are a great way for kids to get away from home for a few days, while learning more about a sport they are interested in. Every year, many kids leave home for the first time to attend their first overnight sports camp. What should you bring though? There is always something everyone forgets, so let’s have a quick rundown of what exactly you should pack for your overnight camp. Some specifics will vary according to each sport.
- 2 pairs of your athletic shoes
- Socks/Underwear for every training & game session (bring 4-5 extra pairs, they go the quickest)
- Any additional equipment needed specific to your sport
- Plenty of TShirts, shorts, and a few sweatshirts
- Jacket in case of a chilly night
- Favorite blanket for your camp bed (sometimes bedding is uncomfortable)
- Case of bottled water for your room (very important to stay hydrated)
- Lots of snacks for your room (never know when you’ll get hungry)
- iPod or some form of music to listen to in your room
- Video games or some form of in-room entertainment (you might get bored at night)
- Flashlight (in case of a power outage)
- Small scarborough first aid kit
- Towels and toiletries for showering and the bathroom
- Cell phone (mom and dad will want you to call to tell them how camp’s going!)
This should provide you with the essentials and few extra things for fun. Remember, it’s always better to be prepared and it’s better safe than sorry!
