Camp Description

Skyview is a gymnastics training center in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, D.C. We are the home of the Gymdancers Performance Team, and competitive programs in Acrobatic Gymnastics, Artistic Gymnastics, and Trampoline & Tumbling. We offer a variety of classes for children of all ages, including Parent & Tot, Preschool and Kindergarten Gymnastics, Flip! for Xtreme Sports, and Adult Classes. Our primary goal is to instill a life-long appreciation for the joy and challenges of physical activity. We provide a strong foundation in gymnastics, excellent training at all levels, and a variety of opportunities for those who wish to pursue the sport. We believe that by learning to be courageous and confident in motion, a child has learned skills for a lifetime.

All Star Camp is an introduction to Skyview Team Programs, and an opportunity for young athletes with a little bit of experience to try working more intensively. We explore Trampoline, Tumbling, Acrobatics, Artistic Gymnastics (Men's and Women's events), and the art of group performance - which is Skyview's specialty.

Everyone participates in skills testing and will be evaluated for placement on teams, but All Star Camp is really about sharing our love for gymnastics! No commitment to the Team program is required.

There will be crafts, games, group challenges, and a pot luck picnic feast on the last day - our Celebration of Stars! Participants must be at least 6 years old (entering 1st grade) with approximately Level 3 floor skills: solid handstand, forward and backward rolls, cartwheel on both sides, back walkover (not required for boys), round-off/rebound - all performed consistently and with good to excellent technique.
