National and Local Basketball Camps in Connecticut
There are national and local camp opportunities for male and female basketball players in Connecticut this year. These camps have great reputations for being good opportunities for local players to learn more about basketball, increase their skills, and be seen by recruiters.
Hoop Mountain, Point Guard College, and Nike will all be hosting basketball camps in Connecticut this year. These national camps are known for their instruction and have solid reputations for recruitment for college and pro teams.
Despite the name, Point Guard College is a camp for all position players. This camp includes classroom instruction, court time, and leadership classes to help develop high school players into quality athletes and good people. Hoop Mountain offers great exposure opportunities, as well as private instruction, tournaments, and shooting camps, among other options. Nike basketball camps focus on fundamental skills, including shooting, dribbling, rebounding, defense, and passing. They offer camps for male and female seven to eighteen year olds.
Two Local Basketball Camps in Connecticut
All-Stars Basketball Clinic has summer sessions in two cities in Connecticut: New Canaan and Greenwich. This co-ed clinic for players age seven to fourteen can be a single week camp experience, or multiple weeks, depending on the needs and interests of the camper. Players are encouraged to compete as they work on fundamental basketball skills, and there are prizes and trophies available.
Jim Calhoun Basketball Camp, hosted by the University of Connecticut, is a premier camp opportunity for boys age nine to eighteen. Campers receive a free t-shirt and basketball, have access to the camp store, and are provided with room and board. Instruction includes both individual and group classes, games, and a professional shooting instructor. Campers can attend one or both sessions.
