Jackrabbit Basketball Camps in South Dakota
The Jackrabbits’ coaching staff will conduct basketball camps in South Dakota at South Dakota State University at Brookings for both boys and girls. There are four camps offered for each gender, covering a wide range of ages and skill levels.
For girls, the four camps are: a day camp for grades 3 through 6, an Individual Skills camp for grades 7 through 10, a team camp for high school teams, and an Elite camp for girls entering grades 10 through 12. The day camp introduces young players to basketball skills and lets them have fun while learning the game. The Individual Skills camp will focus on the fundamentals of
shooting, ball handling, passing, and defense. There will be lots of 5-on-5 team competition and games. Players at this camp can commute or participate as an overnight camper, as they can at the Elite camp. The team camp gives teams the opportunity to play against other teams and hone their skills. Each team is guaranteed at least five games.
Basketball Camp at South Dakota State University for Boys
The boys’ basketball camp at South Dakota State University also has four divisions. The youngest players can attend an instructional day camp. Those entering kindergarten through third grade attend a morning session, while those going into grades 4 to 6 attend in the afternoons. The overnight skills camp is for boys entering grades 7 to 12. There are two Elite camps, one for those going into grades 8 to 10 and one for those entering grades 11 or 12. Players will have the use of Frost Arena, one of the finest facilities in the Midwest. Advanced players will be coached by the Jackrabbits staff and will receive written evaluations of their strengths and those skill they need to continue working on.
