Best College Baseball Programs for College Youth
College baseball camps can be a great way for high school athletes to practice on a college field with college equipment and coaching staff. If you’ve decided to attend a college baseball camp 2018 this summer, you’re probably wondering what you should bring, what it will be like, and what you should do while you’re there.
Things to Remember When Attending College Baseball Programs
Check with the camp to see what you should bring with you and make sure you have everything you’ll need. You’ll probably want to bring some stuff they don’t mention, too. You’ll probably want to bring something to occupy you in your downtime, whether it’s a portable game device, music player, or a good book.
You’ll want extra socks and underwear, just in case. Food will usually be provided, but you’ll want to bring some snacks, in case you get hungry between meals. And make sure you’ve got the equipment you’ll need. You can’t count on the baseball college camps providing everything, even though many will. If the camp has a list of what not to bring, be sure to follow it.
Remember, when you’re at a camp like this, people are always watching you and evaluating you, even when you’re not playing. Even if this isn’t a recruitment camp, you’ll want to be on your game at all times, on and off the field, to really make a good impression.
When there are several players with the same basic skill level, having coaches see you as being the kind of person who would be a good team player can make the difference. They’ll remember you later when it comes time to recruit.
Most importantly, have fun. Make friends. Talk with your roommates. This is a chance to meet other players who are as dedicated to the sport as you are. Try to leave the competition on the field. You’ll be away from home, sharing a pretty intense experience, so make the most of it. It can be a great time if you let it.
