Football Camps in California Hosted by Universities
There are plenty of options available for California high school athletes looking for a football camp this summer. You’ll find that quite a few of the major universities in the state host sports camps of many types, including football. This includes UCLA, University of Redlands, University of San Diego, and Cal, to name but a few. There are also several local camps, run by former players or coaches scattered throughout the state.
You’ll also have the opportunity to attend national camps, which will be holding events in several cities in the state. This includes Offense-Defense and Sports International, among others. These camps are nationally known institutions that have built a strong reputation over the years for providing excellent instruction and recruiting opportunities.
National Football Camps in California
Offense-Defense has been in business for over 40 years, providing instruction to thousands of athletes, many of whom have gone on to play college and pro ball. Six O-D alumni were drafted in 2010 alone. O-D is a full contact camp for kids and serious high school athletes. One of the best things about attending an O-D camp is that it makes you eligible for the O-D All American Bowl game at the end of the year, where the best players from all the O-D camps across the country get to compete against each other in a game like no other.
Sports International is also a nationally known and respected camp. SI hosts general skills camps that are weeklong overnight camps, and also kicking and punting camps. SI also has day camp opportunities and offers several clinics before camps start, open to camp attendees and others. The clinics focus on positions and can give you some specialized training in your position before the general skills camp starts.
