Local and National Football Camps in Connecticut
There will be local and national football camp opportunities for young athletes this year in Connecticut. These camps are designed to stress the underlying fundamentals of the game, as well as general athleticism and mental ability.
Three of the Top Football Camps in Connecticut
The Randy Edsall Football Camp offers one day camps at UCONN, for players age eight to fourteen and one day and four day skills camps for high school athletes. The single day Skills Challenge Camp is designed to test your abilities to see how you compare to other athletes. The four day Skills Development Camp offers group and individual instruction, including special attention to running and weight training instruction. Position players will also receive specialized instruction.
The Elite Passing Academy is a highly regarded camp in Connecticut that focuses on the passing game. The camp is particularly good for QBs, wide receivers, tight ends, fullbacks, running backs, and defensive backs. Repetition and fundamentals are the main areas of focus at the camp, but mental aspects of the game are included, as well, including how to exploit opportunities on the field and how to be good team players.
Joe Namath/John Dockery Football Camp is hosted by Western Connecticut State University. At this camp, young athletes will get to train with the best equipment and the best coaching. Athletes will get a full camp experience, including instruction on proper nutrition, a class on what college recruiters are looking for, and ample free time to spend with other campers between practices. This camp also offers a special course on running, and includes a program designed to increase the speed and quickness of all football players, even those who don’t have strong natural ability in this area. There will also be three clinics available on the first day of camp for campers who wish to take an additional course in Quarterbacking, weight-training, or speed development.
