While it seems astounding, it is in fact true that New Brunswick, New Jersey was the birthplace of Intercollegiate football. On November 6th, 1869, Rutgers University defeated Princeton University to a score of six to four. Such history has maintained the development and sustainability of football camps in New Jersey.

Rutgers University helps maintain this sustainability of football camps in New Jersey with their own Rutgers University Football Camps for players aged 10 to 18. The camps usually take place on the Rutgers University campus in Piscataway, New Jersey in the last two weeks of June. The camp is run by the football staff of Rutgers with college coaches throughout the East Coast in Division One through Three.
One of the oldest football camps in the country and widely considered the premier fundamentals-based, non-contact football camp in the country, the Quarterback and Receiver Camps were established in 1965. With locations also in Arkansas, Georgia, California, and Ohio, the College of New Jersey in Ewing, New Jersey provides the location for the QBR Camp. Alumni of the QBR camp include NFL Hall of Famer James Lofton and former NFL quarterbacks Doug Flutie and David Carr.
Another older and well renowned football camp that has a location in New Jersey is the Offense-Defense Football camp other than that there is a football camp in New York State and other parts of the USA. Starting in 1970 and located in Elizabeth, New Jersey on the Kean University campus right outside of NYC, football players from all around the region aged 7 to 18 get a full football camp experience at the Offense and Defense camps with former NFL coaches and players, which include players and coaches from the New York Giants and the New York Jets.
