Youth Football Camps in Washington
The University of Washington offers youth football camps at several of their campuses for players of all ages. At the University of Washington at Woodinville, young athletes aged 7 – 12 can get excellent instruction to get them started right in football. This camp offers three days of non-contact instruction in the fundamentals, with the emphasis on fun!
The Purple and Gold football camp in Washington aims to instill both technique and excitement for the game. Players will be coached by current and former Viking players and an excellent coaching staff. There will be instruction for all positions and special teams.
For the offense, campers will learn footwork and throwing mechanics for the quarterback position. As wide receivers, they’ll learn correct stance, the mechanics of catching and how to run routes correctly. Running backs will work on handoffs and footwork, while the line will practice stance, run and pass blocking drills.
Defensively, campers will learn footwork, tackling and coverage as defensive backs and linebackers, plus pass rush techniques for the defensive line. Kickers will learn the proper steps and techniques for kickoff, punting and field goal kicking.
Learn and Have Fun at Football Camp in Washington
The Purple and Gold camp at Washington University will give young campers a chance to learn the basics of the game from experienced coaches, giving them a head start on the game once they return to their home schools and leagues. They’ll also get to meet players from other schools and learn the essential skills of cooperation, sportsmanship and self-discipline.
In addition to the Purple and Gold Youth Camp, there are several football camps in Washington for older student athletes, including the Offense-Defense camp in Seattle and the Sports International camp in Olympia. Both of these organizations have long and successful records working with junior high and high school players.
