Nike Basketball Camp Offers Strong Instruction
Nike sponsors basketball camps for boys and girls ages eight to eighteen. Campers are evaluated and placed into groups based on skill level and age, so you’ll never be playing with kids who are substantially younger or less skilled that you are.
The Programs Available at Nike Basketball Camp
Different Nike camps will have different options, but in general, you’ll find programs for general skills, post play, perimeter play, and shooting camps. The general skills camp works on improving all the skills basketball players need, making this a good option for younger players and older players who want a firm grounding in the fundamentals to build on going forward.
Post play camps focus on low and high post play, and offensive and defensive techniques. Perimeter play works on improving the skills of perimeter shooters, including ball handling and shooting. Shooting camps work on shooting from the line and in the field. You’ll learn techniques for shooting from the dribble and from the pass, as well as footwork and other technique.
You’ll also find three options for the camp schedule. You can be an overnight/fulltime camper, a day camper, or an extended day camper. Overnight campers will stay in the dormitories at the host school, and will be fed three meals a day.
Extended day campers will have the same level of instruction, but will go home after camp each day. These campers get lunch and dinner with the overnight campers. Day campers do not get any meals and have a shorter schedule.
You’ll find Nike basketball camps throughout the country during the summer months, with more camps in states like Florida, California, and Massachusetts. There will be a few options for January through May, but not nearly as many as in the summer. Use the SportsCampConnections.com search function to find a Nike camp in your area.
