The Football University Difference
Football University is an elite instructional football camp for serious athletes. FBU was designed to train elite athletes who have demonstrated above average skills on the field and have chosen football as their primary sport. Athletes who attend the camp will train with the latest performance technology. High-definition video analysis at 500 frames per second is used to breakdown individual athletes’ football technique.
FBU also boasts a unique partnership with Athletic Republic who will come into each location and analyze the strength and conditioning abilities of each athlete, giving each FBU athlete the chance to take home vital knowledge and metrics allowing each prep star the chance to analyze his skills and continue the upward progression of training and skill knowledge that will keep him in top-tier shape all season long.
Founded by Rich McGuinness, Football University is designed so that young players can accelerate their ability and compete against the best of the best. Rick, who also created the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, believes that great football camp experiences can make players better on and off the field. The values and drive learned at FBU will truly last a lifetime. The U.S. Army All-American Bowl is the national high school all-star game televised on NBC.
The camp is so well known because it has trained some of NFL’s greatest stars in the past. These stars include Tom Brady and Peyton Manning just to name a few. The reason that Football University is such a good program for high school football players to attend is because of the one on one instruction that they will be getting. This is extremely important to ensure the success of the camp.
Last year, FBU trained more than a hundred athletes who received college scholarships. Although we were instrumental in improving and exposing our athletes to top colleges, we have created a program to provide college exposure for our FBU athletes that is second to none.
The FBU invitation policy is used by FBU for a few reasons. First, grouping only top talent makes for an amazing camp experience. Players will have a chance to compete against other elite players and the small class size makes for a great educational environment. Second, it allows coaches to focus on advanced drills and training methods that help individual athletes excel. Many of the coaches are former NFL coaches and athletic trainers are accustom to teaching in small groups.
FBU Nomination Process
Often FBU scouts miss top prospects because they are still emerging physically or technically, have changed positions, been injured, just started playing football or play for a team that receives little exposure. Therefore, FBU encourages any athlete, parent, or coach of an athlete to nominate a player they believe is an elite football athlete or who has the potential to be one. Each nominated athlete will be interviewed by one of our coaches for admission to FBU. These nominations will be considered for admission on a rolling basis during the year.
